Maybe we could all step back a moment and look at this incident objectively instead of though the eyes of affection? I know Professor Matsumoto is a friend and favourite teacher to many, but I for one would like to know how a child - a child, I have to remind you - was able to even get through the wand movements, let alone the incantation of what is a highly difficult spell without his Professor noticing. Because we are teaching children here, even those of us who aren't strictly teachers, and it's our duty to make sure incidents like this don't happen.

Which brings me to my second point. That particular spell the student used is one created by Professor Matsumoto herself. While I highly doubt she would have taught the spell, considering it's history, I still have to ask how it came to be known to the general student population.

It's nothing personal, Rangiku. I just think that these are questions that need answers before we go any further.

Due to the fact that I am already in a position to do so, the Ministry has requested that I act as a liaison between them and Hogwarts in relation to the matter of Professor Iroh's death. This is hardly top secret information, but for obvious reasons I'd appreciate it if you didn't let the students know who told you.

The Ministry conducted a standard autopsy, which confirmed that Iroh died of natural causes. His body was then returned to his family for private burial arrangements.

That is, unfortunately, all the information the Ministry saw fit to pass on, but it will hopefully set your minds at rest about the cause of death, at the very least..

[For teacher and ghost eyes only]

Is there any particular reason that a girl with uncontrollable lightning magic was allowed to roam about freely without constraints, or is overlooking things just a trend at this school?

We have a boy with a shattered knee cap on our hands, and an unconscious, apparently mentally unstable girl who managed to cast several highly dangerous spells in a row before her own magic overwhelmed her. Thankfully her aim was not as powerful as her casting, or we would be dealing with more than just a trip to the Hospital Wing. From examining the spell residue, one of the spells appears to cause one's blood to boil in one's veins.

I patched both students up as best I could, before transferring them to the Hospital Wing. Out of interest to the safety of the rest of our students, I've placed several binding spells on the girl and her magic. For the time being, she'll be unable to cast any spells, or leave her bed in the Hospital Wing. If anyone has any objections, I suggest you take a look at the state of the Slytherin Common Room and Seifer Almasy before bringing them up.

In the absence of a Slytherin Head of House, I suggest that further action be discussed by all Slytherin teachers, or the entire faculty if necessary. Almasy insists he was acting out of self-defence, and after seeing the havoc this Larxene has wreaked, I'm inclined to believe him for the moment.

OOC: Eheh, so basically this is Roy's assy reaction to coming across two students trying to kill each other. Basically, what happened was that Larxene got so angry, she completely lost control of her magic. Roy is new, so he doesn't know that people have actually been working on the Larxie case (feel free to have your teacher be a part of the Help Larxie Campaign! XD), so he is reacting to the fact that this is the second time he's been involved in something bad happening to a student. Feel free to correct him! He's gonna calm down soon, promise, he's just sorta mad. He is also very annoyed at himself for not realising that something was up with Larxene. But like, I know that some teachers out there would not have just let something like this slide. If you have any questions at all, just flick me an email or poke me on AIM ^_^

The business on which I left took longer than I thought it would. Looks like even the Ministry can’t deal for too long without Roy Mustang on the case. Nonetheless, I have returned, and expect to find the flowers in my wake soon enough. Roses are a favourite, ladies.

Classes will resume as usual, despite the current...situation with some of the other teachers. You all should have had more than enough work under the substitute to be up to date with the curriculum, so no one should be behind.

Hawkeye, remind me to find out what ‘usual’ is for my classes.
